"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (2014): The shell of a film of decent work

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014

It's a little more than 30 years, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created a cynical satire popular cartoon when she gave the title ridiculously absurd: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Readers Cartoons and ate their immediate success as an indie comic stressed the possibility of providing goods and turtles in television and theater. The franchise is no stranger to the for every penny you can milked to pay costs, so I'm not a bit surprised, Paramount and Nickelodeon thought he could do it again flash. But this film creates even more soulless all other means available, including a moral about the importance of family. Largely through the other reviews, I feel to respond that although this film is not as bad as Transformers brush, it was still centered human companions true hero turtle side film.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014

Turtles are effectively treated decently. Their personalities are all available and camaraderie can be felt when they are together. The problem is that the movie does not give you time to get to know and should know a lot Raphael is the lone tight-lipped on, which of the other to hide their insecurities, but never shows a scene that definitely shows this aspect of his character, so if it does not come to his own brothers about the emotional impact it might have. Leonardo is not too much to group leader for a brief discussion between him and Raphael at the beginning of the film without any prior knowledge or do to their relationship, if not, as Rafael nods Leonardo would also fail. Donatello can demonstrate technical competence and Mikey is the buffoon who expected it to be, but immediately by his attachment to April sour. The four turtles votes enough for there were no concerns. Master Splinter is always good or better than the turtles. 'll Do some serious fights, and I must say that the creative use of his tail was fun to watch. There is a scene where the punishment of the disobedient child can see and seem paternal aspects. These five characters could become worse. Tony Shalhoub might not be the best choice for old rat sensei, but it's enough.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014

Most of the film April O'Neil tries to leave his successful career as a reporter fluff. She goes looking for trouble, and it is natural and that leads to many of the comforts of action. April is the star of this film and I do not so much mind if someone else the role of Megan Fox elsewhere. Fox is not particularly convincing in April, but maybe if it was his first film he not mind too much. Not on paper, but it definitely adds nothing to either role. While I feel like throwing Will Arnett as Vernon was genius, it is not enough given to feel good shelf presence and Whoopi Goldberg was barely there material. William Fichtner has nothing, let his characters Eric bags had to be the least convincing. It was a pretty bland antagonist. TMNT fans may recognize Karai and Baxter Stockman names are in the credits, but there is nothing to any of them other than Karai was director of field operations of the Foot Clan barking orders and almost nothing else to say. Shredder is also in this area and their contribution is limited to a few scenes of owls fight. The Shredder plan is generic and feels like it stolen by a series of recent action flicks.

The story of the origin of the Ninja Turtles has had many variations of the popular comic book of the 1980s, which is radically different from the original Eastman and Laird comics and in. I'm not personally hung adaptations of the original story here, but it is a change that I think the longest TMNT fans hate and puts all the amenities of the country in question. The offices of the original bond for another connection attempts for creating great April simplify the hollow-out story of motivations Splinter, the Turtles and Shredder. Like I said, April is the star of this film. It is the driving force, and it will even attack Shredder twice. Perhaps this is the strengthening of the role of young women? I think it is something good comes out to change the focus of the turtles.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014

The sequences of character animation and action were the highlights of the film. First meeting with the Foot Clan is where the turtles do their best not to see, which is very convenient for the filmmakers. In scenes to see those turtles show their skill fails, the animation is smooth and the choreography is well done. I must say that they put most of their efforts on the action sequences and animations Turtles and Splinter. I think that's normal. When the writing was better, these scenes would those moments that could have been much less excited feeling should be, but somehow jumped. Also to wish the cinematography left very left. I feel that these action sequences should be easier to follow. They are easier to see that the battle against evil framed Transformers movies, but that's not much to say. There seems no particular reason why the turtles are much more important in this film, and what makes them do anything to achieve through much more difficult. The designs are too busy and expensive turtles are annoying because of the focus on the lips, but for the most part, the animation is more than enough. The soundtrack is also suitable, if not one of the best aspects of the film.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014

I do not know what Nickelodeon thought your name slapped on this movie, because it does not I would recommend for children a movie. In addition to crude and vulgar humor is sometimes so brutally violent and turtles no precautions are taken to avoid killing their enemies. I wonder if the kids watch Nickelodeon cartoon will find much to enjoy, as well as the show together. This movie has almost nothing to do with the history of this series is clearly aimed at older teens and adults who are nostalgic fondly remember the comic in the 1980s and 1990s films winks at me the Comics 1980 tank appease my personal nostalgia, even if some of them feel more than a little forced. In a way I'm glad to see a movie, TMNT pushing over 13 years and is not intended for children, but pushed this movie PG-13 is simply a clear attempt artificial boundary of a film with a gripping and mature story.

Overall, this is feels like the shell of a decent action movie. Many elements are present, but the writing is so common that it is not possible to effectively combine these elements. Ninja Turtles can order your own movie with ease. The audience loved her, and related services for three decades. Someone should the filmmakers that they do not try to fix what is broken is not said. Although there are attempts to convey some messages resonate because none of them feel hollow. It is reasonable to say that politicians just do not, as it turned out, because they knew it to sell the name to mind. There are indications that some adjustments were made mid production, probably to prevent the control of most TMNT fans and a negative impact on the entire story they, so that the film feeling more than a little incomplete. Perhaps the most remarkable thing about this film is that it avoids offending the public to a significant degree, by making it watchable and occasionally a source of anxiety. However, the result is dull and lacks depth, while not what overall entertainment value of the. It's just not a very fun experience and even better action sequences can make this huge mistake. Despite this, the things they do, the worst movie Ninja Turtles is keeping his good date and likely will appeal to a wide audience, but the audience I saw it with laughed mood rarely suspicious attempts.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014

Personally, I would not recommend spending the green hard earned, to see it in the cinemas of money, but if you really want to deal with snow and confrontation see the chase scene boasted Shredder on the big screen, a morning or discounted tickets. This film is not deserve your money. It is saved not occur Warm nonsense of some aspects of the beloved franchise to the curb. You prove your point that the name to see everything they need to sell the movie, if you go to the cinemas.

Interview: Isaac Elliott-Fisher in "Turtle Power: The Definitive History of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"

Turtle Power The definitive history of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

NICKandMORE presents a special interview of James Harvey (World Finest, Marvel Animation Age), while in conversation with the director Isaac Elliott-Fisher for his work in the new Turtle Power. Definitive History of the documentary Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Say the important stages of the beloved franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtle Power goes further than ever before, making an experience and a film no fan - should miss - bitter or informal. Under Fisher gives us a look behind the incredible work that went into the final scan behind these turtles Kick Butt!

James Harvey: So the obvious question bat, why make this documentary? What did you Turtle Power: The Definitive History of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: I grew up in the 1990s in search of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stuff in a small rural town in Ontario, Canada. When I have about four years been deposited in the yard of a friend to play in the sandbox with the neighborhood kids, and they all these crazy toys that looked so great! There was something about this toy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles caught my attention, something mystical in its design and the background story, the shot at me and hooked me to stay here. A faster until my college years, and I collect toys breakthrough, this time the interested specially for movies and icons of pop culture, me. That was in 2007, halfway through my experience of the film school, that the fourth part in the cinemas Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise and to collect successful re-inspired me again Ninja Turtles.

I started to dig into the history of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and I found it was not as much on outside sources for what appeared to be a much more interesting story of origin, which I had planned it. After a few years of data collection and finally I decided, with filmmakers from my hometown, who had worked with several music videos and other projects to set. I approached Randall Lobb (writer / director) and Mark Hussey (post-production), fresh out of film school in the fall of 2008 with the idea of co-produced a film about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles., 2009 must be the year of the 25th anniversary of the Ninja Turtles, so we have in January began a journey that would take thought us in directions we could never.

JH: Well, now that we have that established can you tell us a little more about you in particular?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: I grew up in a small rural town in the southwest called Clinton. I was always of movies, toys, how everything works, cameras, etc. fascinated Before I dared study filmed movie in the mail and distributed a documentary about one of my passions, Toyota Land Cruiser. I was only 19 at the time, in Canada and the United States on my own, shooting, directing and organizing a documentary which goes on sale worldwide. I live in Paris, Ontario and working as an independent filmmaker and independent film producer.

JH: What about the Ninja Turtles have moved to go to extreme lengths for this documentary? What do you know so attractive, so beautiful find about these characters?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: From the beginning he was always the story and scenes that interested me when I was a kid, I think even the packaging art was interesting and cool and I wanted to know more - that no matter where moved . come and so on. Once filming began, it was amazing, the depth of the rabbit hole went. We discovered this franchise is one of the stories of rags to riches inspiring in American pop culture. Turtles attract many levels, gender, ethnicity, religion; These lines are so perfect that it almost obliterated everyone can find something to relate to the turtle.

JH: The documentary focuses on the first four major franchises: the first comic, the first series of cartoons, first toy, and the first film. Why do you think that this is the most important? What is your opinion?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: We have worked very hard for more than five years the collection and editing of videos and images in this film. It was by far the hardest part was choosing what is and what is omitted. We feel that while we collected the contents of the various aspects of the franchise, the first are the most important; the most popular, had the most interesting stories, and really what most people feel nostalgic and enjoy. We believe this is an excellent platform to discover the story behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and hope to continue the story of the turtles for other press releases from our content (fingers crossed) to tell.

JH: Can you tell us how it is on the search for interviews. Her diary on what you have published on the Internet, open the fans who went some pretty extreme lengths work.

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: We went several times to the United States and on many occasions, especially in New York / Northampton and California. We also ordered an interview Photography Shooting with Steve Barron in London, England, when I realized the interview by Skype, so I think that's how we were geographically. We had a lot of calls and send lots of e-mails, but caught somewhere in the stadium over 80 interviews for the film. Some completely random and always cold! As we say "happy accidents" that it is a line that we borrow from Kevin Eastman in the film.

JH: It was an incredible event for arming. What obstacles do you have? Was the process than I thought, or had a lot of the unexpected?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: Almost nothing was expected in the whole process of making this film. In the sense that in each phase, we have, there was a new opportunity or have an amazing experience. For example, we have started thinking it would mainly be driven fan documentary, most said their views. To our surprise and Kevin Peter opened the lid on this incredible story and in some cases opened their homes literally out to us, then we realized the snowball will continue to grow. The biggest obstacles followed. As Randall put it so well in our group at the San Diego Comic-Con, and I quote. "Trying something the opposite of what the world wants everyone do not put your pants on every morning and do is to do. Whatever you do. If you want to do something, do it . "

Current displayed Turtle JH: What perspective was put in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fandom? Did he give a new perspective on fandom and the franchise as a whole?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: Of the three of us are deeply in franchise history that begins to change their view of the fan entered after many years and countless hours "Tortuga" .. I know that Mark Randall and he completely new perspectives and decisions in a world that knew little, so I enjoy the process. For me, my memories of something that is more than was to draw the longing for childhood. Once you spend a lot of time with something that had special feelings associated with it, it starts to move, not in the wrong direction, but was much more memory, and that means a lot to me. It was an honor to be part of this history.

JH: Then how does it feel, your work as part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are surreal, a fan who is on the other side of the party to be to be part of it?.

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: It is always a pleasure, behind the curtain, part to go from something to be, or access is to live always something fresh. We came to the right place at the right time, and it's great to be part of something as big as that! We were at the San Diego Comic-Con this year (2014), and we live in the Paramount panel H sat (largest room for handicap who do not know, it's 6500 people). They were about to show pictures of the new action film from Paramount, and to our surprise, started three minutes of our film is cut into a large trailer, which was a real treat! We were grinning from ear to ear!

JH: And remember, no matter, to name some of your favorite episodes of cartoons 1980-1990, 4Kids animated series in 2003, the new Nickelodeon CG-animated, and, heck, maybe even your favorite movie question or comic? Tell us your favorite moments Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: It's so hard to pick favorites with something, and I'm afraid it might come off as boring [laughs] I've seen every episode of the original cartoon, but there was a couple of years, and almost all series considered. 2,003 I have to say I'm a big fan of the original five episodes of the old cartoon, and I like the events of the 2003 series, which are closer to the specific problems in the comics ... and where they intersect the shredder head! Overall, however, my favorite part of the franchise should be the first action movie of 1990! But I'm really looking forward to the new movie too! It's great!

JH: With that in mind, if you're able, more of his documentary work release, which would be the next target of hypothetical payment it?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: We do a lot of things, perhaps as properties of the individual premium payments, or make a second film as a full range of volume, something like that.

JH: For all of these experiences, it is a memory or defining moment that you take from that? From all you have to do, and the experience when, for you, encapsulates all this?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: It's almost impossible to choose one, we could many great people to know. This is probably the biggest thing I will take the very positive support and friendliness of each run. As a fan who lives in a house Kevin was incredible, filming interviews with Jim Henson Studios with Brian Henson, Kevin Clash meet, Judith Hoag, James Avery, Kevin and Peter, all artists, and so on and so forth. If I choose one, I could choose when I sitting on a pier in New York just the first film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on a large outdoor screen as part of the opening Tibeca Film Festival with Kevin Eastman and director Steve Barron.

feed the turtle deck JH :. This brings us back to the turtle power of the definitive history of the documentary film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Do you have what you want to do, and after he founded the Final Cut, you are proud that you have done that? Is the die-hard fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in full?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: I think we've done light years beyond our expectations, we are very proud of what we have done. As a fan, I think we have aspects of the franchise, the fans are most interested in and sharing fans around the world, which is something very special researches. As a cameraman and director, I am always pushing myself technically better, but that's life, here is the story is the most important, and I think that we meet.

JH: That said, I'm sure you've probably already answered this, but can give us a reason to run and collect Turtle Power Announce: The definitive history of the documentary film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 12th August 2014?

Isaac Elliott-Fisher: "Turtles are a bit like a cartoon version of the Beatles", as Lloyd Goldfine said. He was the principal author and director of 4Kids animated series 2003 "There is something built into the core of these four green guys, something that is sustainable ... forever." If you grew up with these characters, or touched your life in any way, this is a movie for you. In fact, this story is really about two guys who had a dream and had this dream and ran with it, and has to be very special. Then this movie is for all of us, he told us to follow our hearts and dreams, and that can become a reality. And considering the way things are today, an important message is to keep believes.
