NICKandMORE presents a special interview of James Harvey (World Finest, Marvel Animation Age), while in conversation with the director Isaac Elliott-Fisher for his work in the new Turtle Power. Definitive History of the documentary Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Say the important stages of the beloved franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtle Power goes further than ever before, making an experience and a film no fan - should miss - bitter or informal. Under Fisher gives us a look behind the incredible work that went into the final scan behind these turtles Kick Butt!
James Harvey: So the obvious question bat, why make this documentary? What did you Turtle Power: The Definitive History of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: I grew up in the 1990s in search of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stuff in a small rural town in Ontario, Canada. When I have about four years been deposited in the yard of a friend to play in the sandbox with the neighborhood kids, and they all these crazy toys that looked so great! There was something about this toy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles caught my attention, something mystical in its design and the background story, the shot at me and hooked me to stay here. A faster until my college years, and I collect toys breakthrough, this time the interested specially for movies and icons of pop culture, me. That was in 2007, halfway through my experience of the film school, that the fourth part in the cinemas Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise and to collect successful re-inspired me again Ninja Turtles.
I started to dig into the history of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and I found it was not as much on outside sources for what appeared to be a much more interesting story of origin, which I had planned it. After a few years of data collection and finally I decided, with filmmakers from my hometown, who had worked with several music videos and other projects to set. I approached Randall Lobb (writer / director) and Mark Hussey (post-production), fresh out of film school in the fall of 2008 with the idea of co-produced a film about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles., 2009 must be the year of the 25th anniversary of the Ninja Turtles, so we have in January began a journey that would take thought us in directions we could never.
JH: Well, now that we have that established can you tell us a little more about you in particular?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: I grew up in a small rural town in the southwest called Clinton. I was always of movies, toys, how everything works, cameras, etc. fascinated Before I dared study filmed movie in the mail and distributed a documentary about one of my passions, Toyota Land Cruiser. I was only 19 at the time, in Canada and the United States on my own, shooting, directing and organizing a documentary which goes on sale worldwide. I live in Paris, Ontario and working as an independent filmmaker and independent film producer.
JH: What about the Ninja Turtles have moved to go to extreme lengths for this documentary? What do you know so attractive, so beautiful find about these characters?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: From the beginning he was always the story and scenes that interested me when I was a kid, I think even the packaging art was interesting and cool and I wanted to know more - that no matter where moved . come and so on. Once filming began, it was amazing, the depth of the rabbit hole went. We discovered this franchise is one of the stories of rags to riches inspiring in American pop culture. Turtles attract many levels, gender, ethnicity, religion; These lines are so perfect that it almost obliterated everyone can find something to relate to the turtle.
JH: The documentary focuses on the first four major franchises: the first comic, the first series of cartoons, first toy, and the first film. Why do you think that this is the most important? What is your opinion?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: We have worked very hard for more than five years the collection and editing of videos and images in this film. It was by far the hardest part was choosing what is and what is omitted. We feel that while we collected the contents of the various aspects of the franchise, the first are the most important; the most popular, had the most interesting stories, and really what most people feel nostalgic and enjoy. We believe this is an excellent platform to discover the story behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and hope to continue the story of the turtles for other press releases from our content (fingers crossed) to tell.
JH: Can you tell us how it is on the search for interviews. Her diary on what you have published on the Internet, open the fans who went some pretty extreme lengths work.
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: We went several times to the United States and on many occasions, especially in New York / Northampton and California. We also ordered an interview Photography Shooting with Steve Barron in London, England, when I realized the interview by Skype, so I think that's how we were geographically. We had a lot of calls and send lots of e-mails, but caught somewhere in the stadium over 80 interviews for the film. Some completely random and always cold! As we say "happy accidents" that it is a line that we borrow from Kevin Eastman in the film.
JH: It was an incredible event for arming. What obstacles do you have? Was the process than I thought, or had a lot of the unexpected?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: Almost nothing was expected in the whole process of making this film. In the sense that in each phase, we have, there was a new opportunity or have an amazing experience. For example, we have started thinking it would mainly be driven fan documentary, most said their views. To our surprise and Kevin Peter opened the lid on this incredible story and in some cases opened their homes literally out to us, then we realized the snowball will continue to grow. The biggest obstacles followed. As Randall put it so well in our group at the San Diego Comic-Con, and I quote. "Trying something the opposite of what the world wants everyone do not put your pants on every morning and do is to do. Whatever you do. If you want to do something, do it . "
JH: What perspective was put in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fandom? Did he give a new perspective on fandom and the franchise as a whole?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: Of the three of us are deeply in franchise history that begins to change their view of the fan entered after many years and countless hours "Tortuga" .. I know that Mark Randall and he completely new perspectives and decisions in a world that knew little, so I enjoy the process. For me, my memories of something that is more than was to draw the longing for childhood. Once you spend a lot of time with something that had special feelings associated with it, it starts to move, not in the wrong direction, but was much more memory, and that means a lot to me. It was an honor to be part of this history.
JH: Then how does it feel, your work as part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are surreal, a fan who is on the other side of the party to be to be part of it?.
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: It is always a pleasure, behind the curtain, part to go from something to be, or access is to live always something fresh. We came to the right place at the right time, and it's great to be part of something as big as that! We were at the San Diego Comic-Con this year (2014), and we live in the Paramount panel H sat (largest room for handicap who do not know, it's 6500 people). They were about to show pictures of the new action film from Paramount, and to our surprise, started three minutes of our film is cut into a large trailer, which was a real treat! We were grinning from ear to ear!
JH: And remember, no matter, to name some of your favorite episodes of cartoons 1980-1990, 4Kids animated series in 2003, the new Nickelodeon CG-animated, and, heck, maybe even your favorite movie question or comic? Tell us your favorite moments Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: It's so hard to pick favorites with something, and I'm afraid it might come off as boring [laughs] I've seen every episode of the original cartoon, but there was a couple of years, and almost all series considered. 2,003 I have to say I'm a big fan of the original five episodes of the old cartoon, and I like the events of the 2003 series, which are closer to the specific problems in the comics ... and where they intersect the shredder head! Overall, however, my favorite part of the franchise should be the first action movie of 1990! But I'm really looking forward to the new movie too! It's great!
JH: With that in mind, if you're able, more of his documentary work release, which would be the next target of hypothetical payment it?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: We do a lot of things, perhaps as properties of the individual premium payments, or make a second film as a full range of volume, something like that.
JH: For all of these experiences, it is a memory or defining moment that you take from that? From all you have to do, and the experience when, for you, encapsulates all this?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: It's almost impossible to choose one, we could many great people to know. This is probably the biggest thing I will take the very positive support and friendliness of each run. As a fan who lives in a house Kevin was incredible, filming interviews with Jim Henson Studios with Brian Henson, Kevin Clash meet, Judith Hoag, James Avery, Kevin and Peter, all artists, and so on and so forth. If I choose one, I could choose when I sitting on a pier in New York just the first film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on a large outdoor screen as part of the opening Tibeca Film Festival with Kevin Eastman and director Steve Barron.
JH :. This brings us back to the turtle power of the definitive history of the documentary film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Do you have what you want to do, and after he founded the Final Cut, you are proud that you have done that? Is the die-hard fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in full?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: I think we've done light years beyond our expectations, we are very proud of what we have done. As a fan, I think we have aspects of the franchise, the fans are most interested in and sharing fans around the world, which is something very special researches. As a cameraman and director, I am always pushing myself technically better, but that's life, here is the story is the most important, and I think that we meet.
JH: That said, I'm sure you've probably already answered this, but can give us a reason to run and collect Turtle Power Announce: The definitive history of the documentary film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 12th August 2014?
Isaac Elliott-Fisher: "Turtles are a bit like a cartoon version of the Beatles", as Lloyd Goldfine said. He was the principal author and director of 4Kids animated series 2003 "There is something built into the core of these four green guys, something that is sustainable ... forever." If you grew up with these characters, or touched your life in any way, this is a movie for you. In fact, this story is really about two guys who had a dream and had this dream and ran with it, and has to be very special. Then this movie is for all of us, he told us to follow our hearts and dreams, and that can become a reality. And considering the way things are today, an important message is to keep believes.
