Many celebrities have taken the "ice cube challenge," which began as a unit for the charity event, but now converted into a special for ALS.
First, and still to some extent, the "rules" of the protest were someone throw cold / ice water over his head and designate up to three others to do the same within 24 hours -O- need to make a donation to the charity. This makes it basically a way of avoiding a donation to a charity.
However, it seems that more or less donated to a way to effectively promote the charity of ALS and celebrities often leave the "have to do or to make a gift" part of that video fills before, and encourage other way.
